Our Manifesto
Meeting the Gold Standard
At BabyGold, our goal is to create beautiful, lasting 14k solid gold jewelry crafted with natural diamonds, gemstones, and pearls as sustainably and ethically as possible – and we acknowledge there is always more that can be done. We are constantly auditing our responsible gold sourcing and production processes, staying up to date on the latest practices in sustainable and ethical gold jewelry. We believe that progress matters more than perfection: becoming just 1% more sustainable, consistently, is how real, lasting change is made. We are committed to being a little better than yesterday, every single day. Refining gold and ourselves; it’s kind of our thing.
Sustainability
Sustainability without Compromise,
is our Solid Gold Promise
The research is clear: there is nothing more sustainable than forever.
All of our jewelry is crafted from a single metal: 100% recycled 14k gold. Every piece in our BabyGold collection is made with gold that is either recycled in-house or sourced from suppliers certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), which is the gold standard in ethical fine jewelry. We maintain full material traceability from source to finished piece, so you can wear BabyGold knowing it’s as responsible as it is beautiful.
Fast fashion jewelry is a multi-billion dollar industry that contributes to the 92 million tons of waste created by the fashion industry each year. Fashion jewelry, including gold plated and vermeil jewelry pieces, are designed for short-term wear. Over time, plating fades and base metals are exposed, leading to frequent replacement. 60-80% of jewelry ends up in landfills. The low quality metals and plastic used to make these pieces can take 200+ years to break down in landfills.

Traceable Diamonds
Only Natural and Ethical Diamonds and Gemstones
Real Stones. Real Standards.
Natural diamond mining has a longstanding history of ethical concerns. By now, the term “blood diamond” is widely recognized in the jewelry industry - and for good reason. Beyond human rights issues, diamond mining has also raised significant sustainability concerns globally.
The Truth about Lab Grown Diamonds…
In recent years, lab grown diamonds have been marketed as the most sustainable option. The reality is that many of these claims are unsubstantiated. Mass production - of anything - inherently creates waste and requires large amounts of fossil fuels and energy. Each carat of polished lab diamond emits around 511 kg of CO2 - more than three times the emissions of the average mined diamond (160 kg per carat).
Regulated, Traceable, and Accountable.
Lab grown diamond production is also still largely unregulated. By contrast, natural diamond sourcing has been governed by the Kimberley Process since 2000 - a global union of governments, industries, and civil societies created to eliminate the trade of conflict diamonds. Today, less than 1% of diamonds traded globally are conflict diamonds.
Behind Every Stone, there’s a Community.
Beyond environmental impact, the shift toward lab grown diamonds has real consequences for the communities that depend on natural diamond mining. In many parts of Africa, South America, and Asia, diamond and gemstone mining is a primary source of income for rural economies - supporting families, schools, and infrastructure in regions with few other opportunities.
When consumers choose lab grown, demand for ethically mined natural diamonds and gemstones drops, and those communities feel it first. By choosing responsibly sourced natural diamonds and gemstones, you’re not just making a more sustainable choice - you’re supporting the livelihoods of the people behind every stone.
